Pregnant ladies?

For the first time in a long time, I don't think I know any pregnant ladies! Which is unfortunate, since I'll be taking a certification course in prenatal massage that requires I find a pregnant lady. Do you know of any that might be interested in getting a free massage on Saturday, 10/2/10?

Halloween Candy Buyback Results

From the Magic Beans newsletter:

"We collected over 1,000 pounds of candy for our troops. Thank you to all who participated and we hope to see you back again next year."

We contributed about 5.5 lbs of fun-sized candy ourselves, which was a completely ridonkulous amount of candy (a little less than 150 pieces). So the notion of 1,000 lbs... whoa.

Candy pickup

To make the Halloween Candy Buyback even easier, I'd be happy to do a candy pickup in Cambridge next week and drop stuff off at Magic Beans on my way home. I was thinking either Tuesday or Thursday, probably in Kendall Sq. Would anyone be interested in dropping off their excess Halloween candy with me?

Candy Buyback

For all those of you who are going to end up with daunting amounts of candy after Halloween:

"Magic Beans offers a Candy Buy Back program. Every year, from November 1-10, you can bring your child's Halloween candy to any Magic Beans store and exchange it for a coupon that will give you 25% off of one toy (so your kids will forgive you). Lots of people ask what we do with all that candy. This year, we'll be donating it all to the USO, so it can be shared with troops, both locally and overseas."

Magic Beans is at:
312 Harvard St.
Brookline, MA 02446
p: (617) 264-2326

Here's another way of doing this.

"that at which all things aim"

Snippets that have spoken to me lately:

"Fear less, hope more,
Eat less, chew more,
Whine less, breathe more,
Talk less, say more,
Love more, and all
good things will be yours."

- Swedish proverb

----------

"He says, 'There is nothing left of me.
I'm like a ruby held up to the sunrise.
Is it still a stone, or a world
made of redness?  It has no resistance
to sunlight.'"

- Excerpt from "The Sunrise Ruby" by Rumi
